Owls
June 5, 2005
the babies have some new feathers to show off. it must feel strange to them to have their feathers come in so quickly.

i was cleaning the sidewalk, and this baby owl hissed at me. good that it is learning to watch out for itself.

getting feathers.....

the baby owls can hatch at intervals about a week apart, so owls in one nest can be at different levels of development.
one owl is getting feathers on its wings. when an owl gets all its feathers it will be ready to learn to fly. this owl shows some nice rufousing.
learning to fly in suburbia must be scarey for them.
